You have probably seen QR Code<\/strong>\u00a0a lot.\u00a0Of course, most of us pass by them without paying attention.\u00a0QR stands for Quick Response and it means quick response coding.<\/p>\n

One of the interesting applications of QR Code is in business cards.\u00a0It is possible to design a QR Code in such a way that when a person scans it with a camera, all the contact information placed in it will be stored in the contact section of his mobile phone and there is no need to create a new contact manually.<\/p>\n

So it can be said that this coding can be read and recognized quickly.<\/p>\n

The history of 2D barcodes<\/h2>\n

Around the 1960s, that is, about 50 years ago, when Japan entered the post-war period of growth, the volume and variety of goods in supermarkets increased greatly.\u00a0One of the serious problems of those years was the use of salespeople who could remember the types of goods and their prices and specifications.<\/p>\n

At that time, the idea of \u200b\u200bbarcodes was first proposed in Japan, and\u00a0DENSO WAVE<\/a>\u00a0started producing barcode scanners at that time.<\/p>\n

In the following years, the need to use barcodes increased every day, and the amount of information that could be stored on a normal linear barcode was very small.\u00a0Many customers of\u00a0DENSO<\/a>\u00a0, which was one of Toyota’s suppliers, wanted to find a solution to this problem.<\/p>\n

Masahiro Hara<\/a>\u00a0was the one who invented the solution.\u00a0Placing information in a QR Code square structure, in a form that is less commonly used on industrial packaging, and is also simple to produce.<\/p>\n

The research to design this code took 18 months.\u00a0They had to go through a large volume of written papers to find the proportion of black to white color in them.\u00a0They can also design a type of black and white distribution in a square frame that can be read with the highest speed, the least error and from any angle.<\/p>\n

The automobile industry, especially Toyota, with its variety of parts, was the primary customer of this system.\u00a0But today, the use of this barcode has become popular in seminars, parties, exhibitions, on the boxes of goods, business cards, etc.\u00a0Sometimes this system is even used for fun!<\/p>\n

Example of QR Code<\/h2>\n

The image you see below is one of the world’s largest QR Codes, which was created in Toronto in 2010 to be the first human-made barcode that can be read from outside the Earth’s atmosphere!<\/p>\n

But the Guinness record for the largest barcode is held by a Canadian farming family, which you can see here:<\/p>\n

Naturally, this barcode is also easily read from outside the planet and can direct astronauts to the website of this family farm!\u00a0Of course, assuming that they are equipped with the Internet on the planet.\u00a0Every year, this family builds a variety of labyrinths or mazes with their fields, which have long been a favorite of gardeners and grand palace owners.\u00a0In 2012, they\u00a0decided<\/a>\u00a0that this labyrinth and winding path had a more serious message, and that was the address of the farm’s website.\u00a0The owners of the farm describe that the first time they went up by helicopter, their mobile phone could not recognize this code.\u00a0QR codes do not necessarily have to be black and white.\u00a0But they should have enough contrast to be recognized.\u00a0They returned to the ground again and made more corrections on the surface of the soil until finally they were able to read the website address of their farm from inside the helicopter with their mobile phone!<\/p>\n

If the code of a part of Toyota is the same as your phone number, the result after decoding is obviously the same.<\/p>\n
